At Hope City, child dedication is a meaningful moment where parents publicly commit to raising their child to know and follow Jesus, and the church family commits to supporting them every step of the way. This is not a baptism, but a declaration of intention—placing your child before God and asking for His guidance, protection, and grace over their life.
Child dedication looks a little different depending on campus. At our Mill Woods Campus, dedications take place during a separate service outside of our regular weekend gatherings, with multiple children dedicated together. At our Kingsway and Terwillegar campuses, child dedications happen during a regular weekend service as part of our gathered worship.
Before participating in a dedication, parents are required to attend a short preparation class. This class helps clarify the spiritual significance of dedication, sets expectations, and ensures parents feel confident and supported as they step into this moment.
If you’re ready to dedicate your child—or want to learn more about what this step looks like at your campus—we’d love to walk with you through the process.
